Each of cast bronze with central landscape vignette depicting standing cranes. One mirror features Buddhist emblems of ‘sacred treasures’ at top, and both with Japanese characters on lower right.

Edo period, and while a firm date of manufacture is not available, this style of bronze mirror is based on archaic Chinese examples, the fashion peaked in popularity during the 16th and 17th centuries in Japan.

Condition: These are a matched pair, both with an acquired patina and no visible damage.
